A vehicle fell into the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district and was swept away on Monday night, prompting the authorities to launch a rescue operation, police said. As per official Tata Sumo taxi (JK02BF-6657) fell in Chenab at Mehad near Cafeteria Mod on the outskirts of Ramban town yesterday evening (around 6pm). It’s both occupants are feared to have drowned. They are identified as driver Maya Ram S/O Suram Chand, 40 year(driver) and Parvinder Singh, 18 S/o Chadak Singh (SPO, both residents of Kumait. Senior Superintendent of Police Haseeb-ur-Rehman said a rescue operation was launched immediately by police and local volunteers.
