The Geology and Mining Department team on Monday visited Mansar and seized three vehicles which were involved in illegal mining. The Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria has imposed 144 CrPC in the river belt to restrict the movement of mining mafia. According to the report, a team of Geology and Mining Department headed by District Mining Officer, Samba, Kulwant Singh Bhau. visited Mansar and found that some vehicles were involved in illegal mining. They swung into action and the team seized three vehicles which were involved in illegal mining in river at Mansar. While talking to media persons, District Mining Officer, Samba Kulwant Singh Bhau said that the Department and district administration Samba will not allow such unlawful activities. Many times the Department has warned the mafia against illegal mining. He warned if any person found indulging in illegal mining the Department will take strict action against him under law. This month the District Mining Office, Samba imposed a fine of approximately Rs five lakh on such violations” he said.
