The Union Government today said that the country’s COVID-19 recovery rate has crossed 85 per cent. More than 82 thousand COVID patients recovered during the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry said, the total number of recoveries has reached over 57 lakh 44 thousand. This high rate of recoveries has positioned India as the top country globally with maximum number of recovered cases. The constantly increasing recoveries ensured that the actual caseload of the country is considerably reduced and currently comprises only 13.44 per cent of the total positive cases. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is nine lakh seven thousand. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.55 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. In the last 24 hours, 72 thousand 49 new cases have been reported taking the total number of positive cases in the country to over 67 lakh. The Ministry said, effective implementation of Centre’s strategic and graded Test-Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality. In the last 24 hours, 986 deaths were reported taking the toll to one lakh four thousand 555. According to Indian Council of Medical Research, more than 11 lakh 99 thousand tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has reached eight crore 22 lakh.
