Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board continues to remain headless for the almost three months causing hardships to employees of the Board and contractors whose payments have been withheld in the absence of the Managing Director (MD). After the retirement of its MD, Arvind Kotwal, the government has failed to send his replacement sofar. A delegation of employees told Greater Kashmir that instead of making the Board vibrant, the government is trying to make it defunct. “The organization is almost defunct on the ground. Even the employees are without salaries as there is no MD, who will sign the bills,” they said. “Keeping such an important department without a head is unimaginable, as many senior officers are awaiting adjustment by the General Administration Department. Even today dozens of senior officers were posted in different departments by the government, but the Housing Board has been left out,” they rued.
