The work for the installation of high mast street lights was today started in the Kishtwar Township by the Municipal Committee (MC). A total 110 high masts and street lights costing Rs 8.66 Lakh have been provided by Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) to MC Kishtwar for replacement of dysfunctional and new lights in the Township. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Kumar, who also holds the charge of CEO, KDA launched the installation work in the presence of President Municipal Committee, Riyaz Ahmed Zargar and other Ward members of the Civic Body. Accounts Officer-KDA, Daleep Rathore, Sanitary Inspector MC, Vinod Kumar besides other staff were present on the occasion. The ADC said the replacement of the old and dysfunctional lights would be completed expeditiously ahead of winters. The President Municipal Committee thanked the KDA and said that the move will provide much needed relief to the locals and business community as they were facing problems in moving freely during late hours due to lack of adequate street lights.
