14 bovine animals rescued

Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Tikri and rescued 14 animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir in a truck. The truck, bearing number JK02AF-4925 was intercepted at Manthal by a police party, led by Incharge PP Tikri, SI Jaswinder Singh, under the direct supervision of SHO Rehmbal, Inspector Virender Gupta. During checking, 14 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck in a very cruel manner. Police arrested driver of the truck, identified as Harpal Singh, son of Avtar singh of Iddgah road, Kalpana market, PS Qutam Sher, Saharnpur, UP and rescued all the animals. A case FIR under relevant sections was registered in this connection at Police station Rehmbal.
