Nowabad and Sarwal police recovered stolen vehicles and arrested two accused. As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Pawan Kumar, son of Som Parkash of Dori Dager Akhnoor with Police Station Nowabad stating that his scooty of white colour bearing Registration Number JK02CF-6685 was missing from the spot near Big Bazar where he had parked it. Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 114/2020 was registered at Police Station Nowabad and a special team of police personnel was constituted to search the vehicle. After strenuous efforts, CCTV footage from the nearby areas was obtained which gave a clue to police. After long hours of search, police arrested a person identified as Amandeep Singh, son of late Raminder Singh of Mastgarh Peer Mitha district Jammu along with stolen scooty. Further investigation into the case is going on. Meanwhile, on August 6 this year a complaint was lodged by Ajay Gupta, son of Krishan Lal Gupta of Rehari Colony District Jammu with Police Post Sarwal stating that some unknown persons fled away with his scooty bearing Registration Number JK02CH 5984, which he had parked at Rajpura. Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 138/2020 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started. Acting swiftly on the information, a team from Police Post Sarwal under the supervision of SDPO West Amit Sharma arrested the thief, who was identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Joginder Pal of Gurdaspur, at present Nai Basti district Jammu. The accused confessed his involvement in the theft of scooty. Further investigation is going on.
