DC Kathua listens to Public grievances

District Development Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat today held a public grievances redress camp, here at DC office complex. Several deputations from Border villages of Hiranagar to Kandi areas of Kathua put forth their demands and sought early redressal of issues mostly related to the provision of basic amenities like drinking water, power supply and road connectivity. A delegation of people of Village Barwal apprised the DDC about water logging problem and difficulties faced by residents due to poor drainage at Railway Subway near Barwal. The DDC assured that matter will be taken up with railway authorities for early mitigation of the problem. The deputation also demanded development of Green Zone in indentified industrial area in Barwal to maintain ecological balance in the area. The people were assured that Industries department would be consulted for doing the needful. A deputation from Basohli demanded re-survey of the PMGSY road link from Sialu to Leundi to benefit more habitations. The DDC assured that any intervention with concerned authorities will be looked into and all genuine concerned of the locals will be taken up on priority. A delegation of local contractors also met DDC and apprised their issues related to their pending payments. They were informed that the matter has been already taken up with concerned authorities. The DDC asked the contractors to restart the stalled projects at the earliest. The DDC passed on spot directions telephonically to the district and sectoral officers to take up the projected issues of public interest without delay and submit the action taken report in given time.
