Pakistan army on Sunday evening resorted to firing and shelling on the forward areas and posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesperson said. The cross-border shelling in Nowshera sector started around 7 pm but there was no report of any casualty on the Indian side, the spokesperson said. He said the Pakistan army initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars, prompting befitting retaliation by the Indian army. The shelling from both sides was going on when last reports were received, the spokesperson said.
