Union Health Ministry today said that active COVID-19 cases in the country stands at six lakh 43 thousand nine hundred 48, while 16 lakh 39 thousand five hundred 99 people have recovered. India’s rate of recovery has improved to over 70 per cent. It said, a single day spike of 60 thousand nine hundred 63 COVID-19 cases has taken the virus caseload to 23 lakh 29 thousand six hundred 38. In the last 24 hours, 834 deaths pushed the death toll to 46 thousand 91. ICMR said, two crore 60 lakh 15 thousand two hundred 97 samples were tested till yesterday for COVID-19. Out of these, seven lakh 33 thousand four hundred 49 samples were tested yesterday.
