BJP responsible for hardships, anti-people decisions in J&K: PCC

Senior eaders of JKPCC have blamed BJP for the soaring hardship of public and anti-people decisions of J&K Government. A meeting of top functionaries of PCC and District presidents was held at Party office here today under the chairmanship of JKPCC chief GA Mir, and they blamed the BJP for its total failure to address the genuine problems of the people. The meeting took stock of the problems of people being aggravated by the Govt at the behest of ruling BJP, by series of anti-people and anti-youth decisions. The Govt at the Centre and UT administration is choosing the opportunity to take certain decisions against the wishes and aspirations and interests of the general people, taking advantage of the situation on account of COVID crisis, forcing the people to protest and come on roads. The meeting expressed grave concern over the continuous spike on COVID situation and the great mismanagement and mishandling of Govt on various fronts. The party expressed concern over the panic amongst the people due to lack of proper facilities in the Quarantine Centres and in the hospitals even after over four months of the situation. The Govt should immediately wake up to the situation, ensure better coordination at all levels and drastically improve and ensure adequate facilities in the Quarantine Centres and upgrade facilities in the hospitals include testing, before the situation goes out of control. PCC took upon the BJP Govt for the anti-people decisions of installation of series of toll plazas right from Lakhanpur, Sarore, Akhnoor, Ramban including Ban Nagrota and described it the highly objectionable move of the Modi Govt. Already 9% taxes of new vehicles, heavy taxes on petrol, diesel and unprecedented hike of all items, has broken the backbone of the transporters and common people. The meeting demanded immediate roll back of toll plazas, in the larger interests of the common people. The meeting also took stock of hardships faced by the people due to the mining policies of the Govt leading to great sufferings to all people especially the manifold confusion, smuggling, price hike of building material due to wrong policies of the Govt. Congress leaders also took strong note of the attempts to hush up the case involving serious allegations of illegal acquiring of large chunk of land in Barnoti area of Kathua by former J&K BJP president and demanded a thorough probe into the matter and asked the BJP to come clear on the issue. The party strongly criticized the auctioning and privatization of PSUs like SICOP, JK Minerals, JK Cements, JKI & termed it against the larger interests of public. It has strongly criticized the failure of the Govt to the genuine issues of different categories of temporary, contractual, casual, daily rated and need based categories of employees and workers and failure to frame regularization policies for them and pay them regularly. The meeting lashed at the Centre and UT Govts for continuously depriving the youth and students of 4G services in J&K. Prominent among those attending meeting included Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, GM Saroori, Kanta Bhan, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Abdul Majid Wani, Balwan Singh, Manmohan Singh, Faqir Nath, Dr Manohar Lal, Krishan Chander Bhagat, Hari Singh Chib, Ashok Dogra and others.
