An exchange of fire took place between the security forces and suspected terrorists in Dachan area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said. The firing exchange took place in the same area where a special police officer (SPO) was killed and another wounded earlier this week. A police spokesman said: “Four days back two SPOs of Kishtwar District were attacked by two suspects of Dachan area with axes, killing one and injuring another. Police parties rushed and gave a chase through jungles and mountainous terrain. They were reinforced with additional police parties and local Army unit.” He added: “Some time back contact established and exchange of fire started. Details shall follow.”
