Police on Thursday resorted to cane-charging on people found allegedly violating lock down orders in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Witnesses said that scores of people were seen gathered in groups at several places and outside shops in Tral town. “They had gathered in groups at many places and were just goofing around,” they said. Police after reaching the spot resorted to cane-charging which dispersed everyone from there, the eyewitnesses said. However a few people among the violators sustained minor injuries, locals said. Soon more police personnel were deployed in the area. SDPO Tral, Ajaz Ahmad Malik while said, “Action was inevitable there. They were violating the orders and they were risking their own lives and the lives of other.” “People should not venture out without emergency or unavoidable work but those persons were out without any reason” he added.
