A lady doctor who is the wife of an already infected doctor has tested positive for Covid19 alongwith her father-in-law and their domestic help. They have been shifted to the Isolation Ward of Jammu’s Government Medical College and Hospital. “Wife of the infected doctor – also a doctor, his father (retired SSP of J&K Police) and their servant have tested positive. His mother has tested negative,” said Medical Superintendent GMC Jammu, Dara Singh. Singh said that two more persons from Udhampur have been shifted to Isolation ward after they tested positive. The family members have contracted infection from the doctor, who was part of sample collection team of microbiology department of the hospital, according to the officials. Meanwhile, the authorities have shifted staff members of the Primary Health Center where the lady doctor works. “A shopkeeper and ASHA worker are among the people who were shifted to the quarantine center for observation as preventive measure,” said the officials.
RAMNAGAR TOWN, SIX VILLAGES DECLARED RED ZONES AS 6 POSITIVE CASES SURFACE:
District Magistrate Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla, has declared six villages and Ramnagar town as ‘Red Zone’ to contain spreads of COVID19, strictly imposing lockdown in the hilly tehsil in view of six positive cases.Already some villages in Jib and Rehambal have been declared as Red Zones and the entry and exit from these villages has been banned. As per the order, the DM Udhampur has declared villages of Ramnagar tehsil like Thapalal, Kannals, Marta (Mora Bassi), Dalsar, Kheen, Kimoo and Ramnagar town including Sukh Tala as “Red Zones for COVID19.” He declared surrounding villages as as buffer zones.
