District Development Commissioner (DDC), Sagar D Doifode visited COVID-19 screening centre at Assar here to take stock of arrangements being put in place for screening of passengers, coming from outside. The DDC said Assar being the main entry point of the twin districts, it was necessary to screen each and every passenger carefully. During the inspection, he asked the doctors, field staff and police officials deputed at entry point to properly check the passengers as per protocol. He instructed Block Medical Officer, Assar to keep two No Contact Infrared thermometers 24×7 at nakkah for screening of passengers. He directed them to intensify their efforts to enquire the travel history of passenger’s so that necessary steps will be taken in case any passenger has a travel history abroad or to any affected country. The DDC checked the availability of masks, hand gloves, sanitizers and other equipments. He exhorted upon the officers to invariably inform the district as well as health authorities about daily trend and also directed them to maintain record of every inward movement on registers. Others who accompanied the DDC during the inspection were SDM Assar, Rishi Sharma; Tehsildar Assar, Niaz Ahmed; BDO Assar, Daljit Singh; SHO Assar and other officials of health and police departments.
