Army organized Inter District Pir Panjal Football League at Op Hill Stadium, Mendhar. The aim of the event is to give due impetus to sports and cultivate sporting spirit amongst the youth of the region. Seven teams from Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Nowshera and Ramban Districts are participating in the tournament. The teams have been divided into two pools wherein they will be playing league matches. The tournament began with an exciting match played between Poonch and Reasi wherein Poonch emerged as winner. Sports play an importance role in the society through which the energy of the youth is channelized in constructive activities. It crosses the lines of region, gender, caste and unites the society as a whole.
