Varuna Anand invited by the Indian High commission London to speak on Pashmina Shawl making

The High Commission of India, in London organised an event to showcase the Art of Pashmina making by the artisans and craftsman from Kashmir. The glittering, by invite only event was held at The St. James Court London attended by over 120 people. The event was a celebration of the Art of Pashmina making and all lives connected with this Art. An important cottage industry of J&K and these Shawls being one of the most venerated Textile the world over. The High commissioner Ruchi Ghanashyam, gave the welcome address and praised the locals of Kashmir for their extreme skill in producing these inimitable Textiles enjoyed by collectors and Textile enthusiasts the world over. The other Speakers on the occasion were Jammu based Textile Designer Varuna Anand, who has been promoting this Art across India and the world through exhibitions and online sales. The event was graced by a diaspora of people. Lord Navnit Dholakia, Baron Dholakia OBE, Lord Swaraj Paul, Shreela Flather, Baroness Flather, MP Virendra Sharma, Former MEP Neena Gill, Shahnaz Hussain , Regional Manager of Air India Suhash Jadav, CMD Exim Bank.
