In order to check the welfare of jawans of Traffic Police Rural Jammu, Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu Thursday conducted a darbar of the jawans deployed in Samba-Kathua area in the premises of D.C complex. The main objective of darbar was to listen to the grievances of the Traffic officials and to maintain proper accountability and discipline. The darbar was attended by the concerned supervisory officer/DTIs and others, which include, Behari Lal, DySP Traffic Samba-Kathua, 15 NGOs and 60 Traffic jawans, who are presently performing their traffic regulation, as well as enforcement duties in Samba-Kathua areas. During darbar proceeding, the jawans projected their genuine demands regarding deployment in native towns etc. and they were assured that their grievances will be addressed accordingly. The participants stated that they are receiving their salaries well in time and have no welfare related grievance. They further stated that the officials deployed in the offices are giving quick response regarding sanction of their leave and always listen to their problems promptly. Mohan Lal Kaith, while addressing the jawans, stressed that the indiscipline will not be tolerated at any cost, as the J&K Police is the face index of general public and they all should have to deal politely with general masses, while performing the assigned duties. “If any traffic jawan is found in creating indiscipline he will be dealt sternly,” he said and also focused upon the concerned Challaning Officers to wear the body worn cameras while challaning. He also briefed the officers/jawans that traffic violation are increasing day-by- day and there is a dire need to achieve the challan target already assigned to each challaning officer, besides launching joint special drives in their respective areas. Since, the new Motor vehicle act has came into enforcement and the violators must be briefed suitably before challaning their respective vehicles, he added.
