SKUAST-TAJ discusses issues of teaching fraternity

SKUAST Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) discussed various issues related to teaching fraternity including their promotion. In a meeting held here, Dr Vikas, President SKUAST-TAJ expressed concern regarding promotion of teachers from AGP Rs 8,000 to Rs 9,000, who have completed 12 years of service with Ph.D. The scheme got assent by the Chancellor, Governor of J&K on July 11, 2017 and then the scheme was notified by the Vice Chancellor on July 19, 2017. The House opined that administration should immediately call applications and conduct interviews of such candidates. The House also stressed for speedy implementation of order No 71 (Secy) of 2018 dated July 11, 2018 regarding sanction of Rs 6,000 AGP to Subject Matter Specialists and Programme Assistants of KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu as the agenda has already been approved by 28th Board of Management and assent by the Chancellor, Governor of J&K approved in 17th University Council Meet. The meeting also expressed concern for speedy disposal of all the pending CAS cases of teachers / scientists of SKUAST-Jammu. President SKUAST-TAJ Dr Vikas said that the Vice Chancellor has already been appraised about the above mentioned issues and he has assured to resolve these agendas as soon as possible. Besides, Dr Vivak M Arya, General Secretary, Dr Pradeep Kumar Rai, Joint Secretary, Dr Devinder Sharma, Publicity Secretary, Dr Rajeev Bharat, Treasurer, the meeting was attended by Dr Poonam Parihaar, Dr Jai Kumar, Dr Anil Bhat, Dr Amitesh Sharma and Dr Muneeshwar Sharma.
