Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh discussed police /security arrangements required to be made for Darbar move at the Winter Capital, Jammu. IGP Jammu Zone briefed participants about scheduled dates of movement of employees and record from Srinagar to Jammu and need to maintain utmost vigil so that entire process is completed in a peaceful and secure manner. He also briefed officers about the elaborate security plans which are required to be taken in the winter capital for next six months. Various challenges which are likely to be faced in the winter capital were discussed in a threadbare manner. All the participating officers were briefed about arrangements to be made by them to enhance security arrangements for Darbar move. IGP Jammu also held detailed discussions on various issues raised during the meeting. He stressed upon the participants to initiate elaborate security measures in the province especially in District Jammu including border areas in view of present security scenario; to ensure adequate police security and law and order arrangement in and around Civil Secretariat and Raj Bhawan, Jammu and adequate security arrangements on all the three VVIP routes likely to be used by the Governor from Raj Bhawan to reach Civil Secretariat, Jammu. Instructions for gearing up checking and frisking at various Nakas in city and outskirts were also issued to the officers during the meeting. The officers were also directed to ensure that checking of hotels and lodges be stepped up besides directing hoteliers and lodge owners to maintain proper record of their customers. SSP Jammu was directed to ensure that all SHOs should have database of all floating populations living in their jurisdiction. SSP Traffic City Jammu was directed to co-ordinate with SSP Jammu and workout a joint plan for Jammu city to sort out the problem of traffic jamming in Jammu city as well as parking of vehicles on VVIP routes.
