In Bihar, more than 16 lakh people have been affected by floods in 18 districts including Patna, Buxar, Bhagalpur, Purnea and Araria. The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed authorities to step up relief and rescue operations in flood affected areas. People in the state capital Patna heaved a sigh of relief as there has been no rainfall during the past 24 hours. 38 thousand people have so far rescued from water logged areas of Patna. Over three lakh people have been affected by torrential rains. Five to six feet water is still in Rajendranagar and Kankarbagh localities of state cspital. People have taken shelter on roof of theie houses. Two helicopters have been pressed into relief and rescue operations. 50 boats have also been engaged. Meanwhile Train services has been restored at Patna junction as rain water from railway track has been receded.
