Internet and mobile services were snapped in Kashmir valley on August 05 after the abrogation of Article 370. In Jammu region, only mobile internet has been barred so the people can still access internet via landline broadband connections etc. Recently, BSNL revealed that the scores of subscribers of landline broadband connections have made way to their offices regarding the hacking problem. Subscribers complained that hackers have managed to crack their passwords and hence use internet services easily. The service providers have appealed their subscribers to change their passwords often. “I was shocked to see 8 devices connected to my Wi-Fi when we have only four members in the family. Also, the internet speed was miserably slow,“I have faced this issue quite often in past two months. So, I visited BSNL office and shared my problem where I got to know about this hacking problem that other subscribers are dealing with. Now, I have decided to set a strong password and also alter settings to avoid misuse.” Responding to complaints, service providers said that people must buy quality equipments from them instead of opting for cheap options available in market.
