Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday booked two Government officials, who happened to be father and son, in a disproportionate assets case. The Anti-Corruption Bureau Doda registered a case against Nazir Ahmed, son of Kher Din, resident of Village Assar, District Doda, a Senior Assistant in the BDO Office Assar and his son namely Arif Waquar, Junior Engineer, presently working in PWD (R&B) Division Ramban, for accumulating huge moveable/ immovable assets quite disproportionate to their known legal sources of income. Accordingly, formal case vide FIR no 7/19 under Section 5(1) (e) read with Section 5(2) J&K P C Act Svt 2006 was registered against the duo at Police Station Anti-Corruption Bureau Doda and investigations were taken-up. The verification revealed that aforesaid officials, by indulging into corrupt practices and misusing their official positions, have raised huge assets in the shape of moveable and immovable properties, quite disproportionate to their known sources of income. During course of verification, it was surfaced that Nazir Ahmed and his son Arif Waquar were in possession of a triple-storey house and one single-storey house constructed on a piece of land measuring one Kanal one Marla, one double-storey house constructed on another piece of land measuring 12 Marlas, land measuring 3 Kanals 12 Marlas on which shops were constructed at Assar, land measuring 22 Kanals at Kurmail (Assar) and a sick unit (factory) established in one Kanal land on National Highway Batote-Doda at Assar. The verification further revealed that Arif Waquar had also purchased a Maruti car bearing no JK14C-5815. The expenditure incurred by both of them in acquiring aforesaid assets has been found much more than the legitimate income earned by them from all known sources of income. The assets found in possession of father-son and the expenditure incurred by them in acquiring above mentioned assets are disproportionate to their known sources of income. After obtaining search warrant from the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Doda, ACB teams were constituted and deputed to conduct house searches of the accused public servants at village Assar, District Doda. During searches, some incriminating documents, Bank Passbooks and FDRs were also recovered. Further investigation of the case is going on.
