With another batch of 28,000 jawans being deployed in Kashmir valley, the central government has put the Army and Air Force on high alert in Jammu and Kashmir. Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah questioned the Government’s move to put Air Force and Army being on high alert in Kashmir valley. Rashtriya Rifles and other regular units deployed on the LoC have been asked to be prepared for any attempts by Pakistan to push terrorists into the Kashmir valley. Indian Air Force fighter aircrafts have been patrolling over Jammu and Kashmir since Thursday evening as part of the operational alert. The steps have been taken in view of the increased troop induction. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) led by Amit Shah, has said that deployment of paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir is based on assessment of internal security situation and training requirements. The government also said that induction and de-induction of central forces is a dynamic process and there is no need for these to be discussed in public domain. Reacting to the development of Air Force and Army being on high alert, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah tweeted, “What “ongoing situation” in Kashmir would require the army AND the Air Force to be put on alert? This isn’t about 35A or delimitation. This sort of alert, if actually issued, would be about something very different.”
