DGP sanctions retirement gift of Rs 47.85 lakh in favour of 64 personnel

The Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh sanctioned retirement gift of Rs 47.85 lakh in favour of 64 personnel of J&K Police on their retirement from the service. The gift, sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund, is a welfare gesture for a gazetted officer, 48 non-gazetted officers and 15 lower subordinates of the organisation. A retirement gift of Rs 75,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 63 personnel, who have retired in the month of June and July this year and Rs 60,000 has been sanctioned for one personnel, who retired from service voluntarily in the month of April 2019 i.e., before implementation of 14th Central Police Welfare Committee meeting decision, under which the retirement gift was enhanced from Rs 60,000 to Rs 75,000 per head. Police Headquarters has sanctioned over Rs 4.86 cr as retirement gift in favour of 774 personnel during seven months of the year. The gift is sanctioned for all police personnel at the time of their retirement as a token of recognition of their service in the Department
