Commemorate martyrdom of J&K policemen, name prominent places after them: Amit Shah

Asking Governor Administration to commemorate martyrdom of Jammu and Kashmir policemen in their hometowns in an appropriate manner each year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that prominent places in the state should be named after the martyred jawans. Shah, who will on Thursday conclude his two-day maiden visit to Kashmir valley after becoming the Union Home Minister, visited the family of martyr Station House Officer (SHO) Arshad Ahmad Khan, who was martyred in a terrorist attack at KP road in south Kashmir district of Anantnag on June 12. Five CRPF jawans were martyred and a terrorist was killed in the incident. ”The Union Home Minister visited the home of martyr Arshad Khan and consoled his bereaved family. During his visit, Shah asserted that his sacrifice for the security of our nation has saved many lives and the entire nation was proud of Khan‘s valour and courage,” J&K, Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam and Ganiash Kumar, Additional secretary, J&K, in Ministry of Home Affairs told reporters during a press conference here on Thursday.
