There could be quite a few misunderstandings happening today—you are not quite in synch with the people you’ll be working with, so you will have to be extra careful about clarifying what you mean when you speak. Nonverbal communication won’t be much of a help. In fact, it could be more of a distraction as far as these particular people are concerned. Avoid email if at all possible. Conversations that are face to face or over the phone stand a much better chance of being successful.
