Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday asked the government to access the losses to farmers and orchardists following incessant hailstorm in Kulgam district.
Party senior leader Sakina Itoo and provincial spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said that the farmers in Kulgam and DH Pora have suffered immense losses to their standing crops due to the incessant hail storm in Kulgam and other adjoining areas. “I urge the incumbent administration to depute revenue teams to Kulgam to access the losses to farmers. The incumbent administration should also ensure that electricity is also restored in the hailstorm hit area,” Itoo said, according to an NC statement.
“The situation in Kulgam has been worrisome with many areas suffering massive hailstorm rendering losses to many orchards in the constituency. Governor Administration must immediately depute the revenue teams to assess the losses and compensate the affected orchardists,” said Imran Nabi Dar, according the statement.
