- Charak highlights plights of Pak shelling victims, other issues
JAMMU : Meeting of Dogra Sadar Sabha, Tehsil Bishnah was held at Bishnah town wherein besides office bearers and members of Tehsil Bishnah large number of other prominent people from all the area including Sarpanches, Panches, Numberdars, Chowkidars and youths attended. Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K participated as Chief guest. The following crucial problems being faced by the public of the area were discussed: -Non-availability of water for irrigation purpose up to the tail end as no proper desilting has been carried out in the canal and distributaries of the area and due to the non-availability of electricity all the pump sets and irrigation tube wells have also become totally nonfunctional which has created a drought like situation. The people living near the Indo-Pak border are worst affected due to the heavy shelling from across the border and nothing is being done for extending the required help from the government. Almost all the main roads, link roads, lanes and drains are in dilapidated condition which has created numerous problems for whole public in general and school going children in particular.There is total mal-functioning of educational institutions because of the insufficient staff and the accommodation for the students especially the government degree college Bishnah which is in quite bad shape. “Fasal Bhima Yojna” be immediately implemented in the whole area especially in the border belt so that farmers are saved from starving.Proper financial assistance be provided to the farmers whose crops have destroyed due to the recent hail storm.Proper accommodation and other facilities be provide for the degree college Bishnah.Almost all the speakers highlighting the above mentioned problems and appealed to Sh. G. S. Charak to take up these issues with the concerned authorities at the earliest otherwise they will be compelled to start strong protest against the government in whole of the Tehsil.Charak while speaking on the occasion said that these are genuine demands and the central and state governments should come at their rescue at the earliest or ready to face the consequences when people come on the roads to lodge their protest. He also warned the authorities about the worst type of discrimination being meted out to the Jammuites.The following are the prominent persons among those who spoke on the occasion:- Prem Sagar Gupta, Gambhir Dev Singh, Dr O.
