Srinagar: Numerous deputations from different walks of life called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today. They brought their difficulties into her notice and sought their redressal.A deputation of residents of Tral town demanded pacing up of works at the Khanqah i Faiz Panah of Hazrat Ameer i Kabir(R. A.) and putting Nagberan, Gufkral and Nagbal areas on the tourism map of the valley. They also demanded setting up of a medicinal plant institute and girls college in the town. A deputation of employees of Public sector undertakings sought formulation of a comprehensive policy for the revival or merger of PSUs in the State. They also demanded adoption of a uniform policy in terms of welfare measures, wages and regularisation among the employees of all PSUs. Another deputation of the employees of SRTC sought adequate financial package to the corporation for buying new vehicles. They also demanded clearance of dues of the corporation by various Departments and agencies.A deputation of KAS officers sought removal of stagnation in promotions for the members of the service. A deputation of Graduate engineers also sought better cadre management of their service. Another deputation of lecturers sought parity in their pay scales with other services.A deputation from Aishmuqam sought augmentation of health facilities in the area besides starting work on the proposed degree college there.Deputation of people from Padshahi Bagh, Natipora demanded installation of more dewatering pumps in the area to drain out excess water during rains. They also sought upgradation of the local filtration plant. Another deputation of the people from Bemina demanded desilting of the drains in their area, setting up of a fire station and pacing up of work on the Children’s hospital.Interacting with a deputation of officers of Cultural Academy, the Chief Minister appreciated the documentation of culture and heritage through its various journals. Talking to a deputation of traders, Mehbooba Mufti said her Government has started a process of wider consultations to reach a consensus on GST implementation in the State. She said the interests of every section, importantly traders and business community, would be kept in mind before arriving at a decision in this regard.Deputation of labour workers sought strict execution of various welfare schemes for labour class in the State by Buildings & Construction Workers Board.  A deputation of residents of migrant colony, Sheikhpora demanded streamlining the allotment of residential quarters and adequate sanitation in their colony. Another deputation from Takia Behram Shah sought widening of Poshwara road and early completion of the bridge. A deputation of wood suppliers union demanded release of pending flood relief in their favour.Deputations from Neel, Banihal and Mulnag, Harwan also met the Chief Minister and sought upgradation of roads in their areas and augmentation of health, ration and drinking water facilities.Several other deputations of ISM doctors, faculty members of SKIMS Medical College, Bemina, daily wagers of JK Bank, non-teaching staff of colleges, employees of Revenue Department, members of Water Sports Association, shopkeepers of Dr. Ali Jan Plaza, litho newspaper owners and residents of Hazratbal also met the Chief Minister and apprised her of their demands and difficulties.The Chief Minister assured them that appropriate action would be initiated on their demands by the Government.
