Dogra Degree College successfully hosted The Bizquest, a dynamic Commerce Quiz aimed at promoting excellence in Business, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, and Finance. The event, held on December 27, 2024, was attended by enthusiastic students and faculty members, and was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College, and Mr. Rakesh Koul, Head of the Department of Commerce.
The quiz was organized around four crucial topics: Business Basics, Corporate World and Entrepreneurship, Accounting and Finance, and Current Affairs in Commerce. The event challenged participants to demonstrate their knowledge across a broad spectrum of commerce-related subjects, ranging from foundational business principles to the latest developments in global finance and economics.
The event was kicked off with a Welcome Address by Shivani Kashyap, Assistant Professor, Commerce Department, who warmly welcomed all participants, faculty, and distinguished guests. In her address, she emphasized the importance of such quizzes in encouraging students to apply their theoretical knowledge and stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the commerce world.
Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College, delivered the inaugural speech, expressing her pride in the college’s commitment to academic excellence. She highlighted the significance of events like The Bizquest in fostering critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students. Dr. Thakur also extended her best wishes to all the participants, urging them to continue their pursuit of knowledge and excellence in their future careers.
The participants competed under the team names: Money Makers, Profit Path, Success Squad, Idea Builders and Goal Getters. Each team demonstrated impressive knowledge and strategic thinking, contributing to a lively and competitive atmosphere throughout the event.
After an intense and engaging quiz competition, Idea Builders emerged as the winning team, demonstrating exceptional expertise across all four categories. The team members—Yudhveer, Shivali, and Ayati—were awarded first place for their outstanding performance.
The event concluded with an announcement of winning team, where the winners were honored for their outstanding performance in the quiz. Prizes and certificates were awarded in recognition of their hard work and knowledge.
Dr. Bela Thakur congratulated the winners and all participants, praising their enthusiasm and passion for learning. She reiterated the importance of continuing to explore and grow in the dynamic fields of business and commerce.
The Bizquest was a resounding success because of the efforts of Ms Shivani Kashyap (Assistant Professor),Ms.RachnaDevi (Assistant Professor) Ms.Pranika Gupta (Lect.) ,Ms Amarpreet Kaur (Lect.), Mr Rinkal (Lect.) and Ms.Anita Sharma (Lect.) reflects Dogra Degree College’s commitment to providing its students with opportunities to develop both academically and professionally. Through such events, the college continues to inspire and equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their future careers in the ever-evolving business world.
