Srinagar, DEC 19
The Jammu and Kashmir Business Confederation (JKBC), under the leadership of its President Mohammad Altaf Dar, has strongly opposed the implementation of the e-challan system in Srinagar due to the severe lack of parking facilities in both the city center and its outskirts.
Dar highlighted that customers often park their vehicles near shops to make quick purchases, but instead of facilitating the local economy, the e-challan system penalizes them.
He expressed disappointment, stating, “This system is counterproductive and discourages customers from visiting local markets, further burdening the business community.”
Various deputations have visited the JKBC office, urging authorities to suspend the e-challan system until sufficient parking infrastructure is developed across Srinagar and its adjoining areas.
Mohammad Altaf Dar emphasized, “The government must address this issue urgently to ensure smooth business operations and ease for the general public.”
The JKBC appeals to the administration to take immediate action to resolve these grievances and provide relief to traders, shopkeepers, and customers alike.
