JAMMU, Apr 13
Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit has raised a clarion call for stringent measures to clamp down on the exploitative practices perpetrated by a nexus of private schools, book, and uniform sellers, while simultaneously advocating for enhancements in the quality of education and facilities within government schools.
At a press conference jointly addressed by Party State Central Office State Chief Manish Sahni and Meenakshi Chhibber, the urgent need to address the recurring issue of malpractices surrounding the commencement of academic sessions was emphasized. Sahni underscored how, with the advent of each academic year, the collusion among private schools, book, and uniform vendors springs into action, brazenly disregarding administrative directives. Meenakshi Chhibber highlighted the perennial complaints lodged by both students and parents, lamenting the sluggish response of the administration akin to the mythic slumber of Kumbhakarna. She criticized the recurrent cycle wherein sporadic actions are taken against select book and uniform vendors, merely to satisfy formalities, without addressing the root issue. Chhibber urged for stringent measures against schools mandating purchases of non-NCERT books, unauthorized collection of annual and monthly fees, and collusion with book vendors for profiteering. She called for decisive actions, including revocation of recognition, against such errant institutions.
The demand extended beyond punitive actions, as the party emphasized the imperative to bolster the standard of education and amenities in government schools. Amidst their advocacy, Sahni conveyed warm wishes for the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, coupled with the commemoration of the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution.
The event witnessed the presence of Vice President Sanjeev Kohli and President Kamgar Raj Singh, signifying a collective resolve within the party to champion the cause for educational reform and equity in Jammu-Kashmir.
