In a significant press conference today, Pt Rajesh Kesri, the President of Shiv Sena Hindustan J&K, expressed deep concern over the ongoing nationwide strike by Tanker Union drivers. Kesri emphasized the impact of the strike on the government and the public, highlighting the potential difficulties it could pose.
Addressing media personnel in Jammu, Kesri lamented the current state of affairs and urged the government to adopt a more consultative approach before enacting any new laws. He stressed the importance of involving members of the public, opposition MPs in the Parliament, and representatives from various assemblies in the decision-making process. Kesri warned against hastily formulated laws, asserting that they could lead the country into serious problems, with the government bearing the entire responsibility for the consequences.
Highlighting the immediate repercussions of the tanker drivers’ strike, Kesri pointed out the widespread inconvenience faced by the people of both the country and Jammu and Kashmir.
He painted a grim picture of the situation, citing shortages in petrol, disruptions to regular vehicle movements, and potential standstills for essential services such as ambulances, police vehicles, fire extinguishing vehicles, and bank vehicles. Kesri called for urgent dialogue between the government and the leaders of the tanker driver union to resolve the issue promptly, ensuring minimal impact on the general public.
