Reacting to the Supreme Court’s historic verdict upholding the abrogation of Article 370, senior BJP leader and Convenor, Department of Training, J&K, Dr Parneesh Mahajan expressed immense satisfaction and termed it a “momentous victory for national unity and progress.”
In a statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader said “The Supreme Court’s verdict is a resounding affirmation of the Modi government’s bold and decisive step to remove Article 370, which had been a stumbling block to J&K’s complete integration with India for decades. “This historic judgment paves the way for a brighter future for J&K, one where all citizens enjoy equal rights and opportunities, and the region can unlock its full potential,” he added.
Dr Parneesh further emphasized the verdict’s significance in ensuring justice and equality for all citizens of J&K. “For years, the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh faced discrimination and limited development due to Article 370. This verdict now guarantees them equal rights under the Indian Constitution, including access to education, jobs, and economic opportunities,” he added.
The senior BJP leader also expressed optimism about the future of J&K and its role in India’s growth story. “With the removal of this artificial barrier, J&K is now poised to witness rapid development and become a key driver of India’s economic engine. We can expect to see increased investments, infrastructure projects, and job creation, leading to a prosperous and vibrant future for the region.”
The BJP leader also welcomed the Supreme Court’s directive for the J&K administration to conduct elections by next September. “Holding elections is crucial for establishing a democratically elected government that truly represents the aspirations of the people of J&K. We are confident that the people will participate enthusiastically in the upcoming elections and choose a government that will work towards building a prosperous and peaceful J&K.”
He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to the development and progress of J&K. “The BJP has always stood for the complete integration of J&K with India, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the region benefits from all the opportunities and prosperity that come with being part of our great nation,” he added.
