An enforcement drive spearheaded by ARTO Reasi, Tara Mani, was conducted today in Reasi town to encourage adherence to road safety regulations. Under the directives of District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, the team checked 29 vehicles.
During the inspection, 7 vehicles were found operating in violation of different provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Consequently, fines were imposed in accordance with the law, amounting to a cash retrieval of Rs. 5000 from compounded challans. Moreover, an anticipated sum exceeding twenty thousand rupees is expected from challans issued for multiple violations as per the MV Act.
While emphasizing the enforcement aspect, the drive also focused on driver awareness and education regarding safe driving practices. Drivers were sensitized on crucial elements such as the correct usage of seat belts, ensuring vehicle fitness, the dangers associated with mobile phone use while driving, adherence to speed limits, and overall compliance with traffic laws.
