Senior BJP leader and former minister Bali Bhagat today welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict upholding the abrogation of Article 370, calling it a “historic victory for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and a testament to the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to national integration.”
In a press statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader said “The abrogation of Article 370 was a bold and decisive step that had been long overdue. For decades, this controversial article had deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their rightful place within the Indian Union and hindered their progress. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Modi government has rectified this historical injustice and brought Jammu and Kashmir into the mainstream of India’s development.” He further elaborated, “The rights of several communities, including Gorkhas, refugees, Safaikaramcharis, and others, were systematically denied due to Article 370. However, since its abrogation, these communities have finally received their due rights and recognition. Separatism and stone-pelting, once rampant in J&K, are now things of the past. Peace and prosperity have taken root, and the region is witnessing unprecedented development across various sectors.”
While celebrating the verdict, Bali Bhagat also targeted Kashmiri leaders supporting separatism, Islamic fundamentalism, and Pakistan’s agenda.
He termed the Supreme Court’s decision a “big slap” to them, exposing their true intentions and highlighting the harmful consequences of their actions.
Responding to Omar Abdullah’s statement, Bhagat asserted that “hundred generations of Abdullah’s cannot restore 370.” He emphasized that Article 370 belongs to the past and urged everyone to accept this reality.
Bali Bhagat highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in J&K since the removal of Article 370. “Crores of tourists are now visiting the region, boosting the local economy and creating new employment opportunities. Infrastructure projects are progressing rapidly, connecting J&K to the rest of India and facilitating greater trade and commerce. Education and healthcare facilities are being upgraded, ensuring a better quality of life for all citizens.”
“Only the Modi government could have achieved this remarkable transformation in Jammu and Kashmir,” Bali Bhagat asserted.
“Their commitment to the region’s development is unwavering, and their leadership has instilled a sense of hope and optimism among the people. I urge all citizens of J&K to continue supporting the Modi government so that we can together build a brighter future for our beloved state.”
