Jammu Municipal Corporation has asked 15 ex-officers and 160 employees to vacate the apartment in a month. It has also been warned that if the flats are not vacated within 30 days, the Municipal Corporation will release the possession by force. The Municipal Corporation had recently issued the notification of the housing policy. The exercise to implement this housing policy has intensified.

According to the Municipal Corporation, the former officials have occupied the flats in Gandhi Nagar for a long time. The matter reached the High Court. The Municipal Corporation found that 15 former officers and 160 employees had unauthorizedly occupied the flat during the investigation. Now the Municipal Corporation will vacate all the houses. After this, only eligible people will get a housing facility.

In the posh area of ​​the city, Gandhinagar, the then municipal administration built flats instead of cattle sheds and allotted shells to their officials. When this matter arose in the High Court, it was told that the Municipal Corporation does not have any housing policy. In this regard, orders were given to make a housing policy. As a result, the Municipal Corporation issued notification of housing policy. A large number of houses have been found in unauthorized occupation under this policy.

“Those who have government accommodation by following the rules will have to vacate the house. Notice has been issued to the people concerned. Thirty days has been given. If the house is not vacant, the police force will get the house vacated. Former officers and employees are involved”, Sudhir Bali, ACR, Jammu Municipal Corporation.
