Driving learner’s licence will now be available at your doorsteps within few days after your test. According to the new consent by the Jammu and Kashmir Administration, candidates for the learner’s licence can now apply online for the learner’s licence and give the test from home.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a new guideline about the online learner’s licence test that is now applicable in the entire J&K UT which means the applicants don’t have to visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for the procedure.

Here’s how you can apply for the learner’s licence:

Go to parivahan.gov.in website and click on Driving licence related services. Select your State/UT and apply for the learner’s licence. Select the correct options given further and fill your Aadhar Card details. Write the OTP messaged on your contact number and continue with the procedure.

Upload your signature and submit the required fee amount. Watch the tutorial video in the portal which is about 5-7 minutes. Answer the given 10 questions. 6 correct answers are required to pass the online test. If you pass the test, you get the learner’s licence and can have the print out.

This is a good initiative by the Government as people in Jammu and Kashmir UT had issues about the slots for learner’s licence.
