Absconders arrested after 32 years

REASI: Continuing its drive against underground criminals and absconders, Reasi Police arrested three more fugitives who were evading arrest since years. Two of them were absconding for the last 32 years after commission of crime and Warrant issued against them by the court.

Case FIR number 88/1989, under section 332, 382, 148, 149, 224, 225 RPC had been registered against Toshi alias Darshan Lal and Gud alias Yashpal, sons of Qumar Din alias Ram Saran on 19/6/89. Case was proved and challaned against the accused. To avoid conviction, they jumped trial proceedings following which General Warrant of Arrest U/S 512 CrPC was issued. Teams of Reasi Police developed the information and after hectic efforts, arrested them from Jammu. Reasi Police also arrested absconding criminal Abdul Kareem son of Musa, resident of Kansi-Patta who was absconding for the last seven years after he jumped parole in a case of 2014. He was involved in a rape case.

He is driver by profession and remained in Kashmir valley and Ladakh for evading arrest. Continuous chase and hectic efforts of Reasi police led to his arrest.

Pertinent to mention that under `Frari Ki Griftari’- an initiative of SSP Reasi Shailender Singh for the arrests of absconding criminals, a number of hardcore, notorious and habitual criminals, who were evading arrests since years, have been nabbed.
