JAMMU: Anil Kapahi, a renowned business entrepreneur was today elected as the Secretary of Amar Singh Club Jammu.
Kapahi won the election by 2/3rd majority of members against Sweesh Anand. The elections were conducted through secret ballots by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer, the Vice President of Amar Singh Club Jammu, in presence of two observers Er Kiran Wattal and NS Chahal. The elections were conducted under the chairmanship of Dr Langer.
The elections for the Executive Committee were held last month in which 11 members Anil Kapahi, Siddharth Mehta, Er Raman Gupta, Anil Kumar Gupta, Dr Vikram Handa, Sweesh Anand, Er Vikram Puri, Dr Nandita Mehta, Er Gurpreet Singh Chahal, Ritika Mahajan and Sanjay Sethi were elected. Besides, the Government also nominated 4 members to the Executive Committee of Amar Singh Club in terms of Section 19 (ii) of the club constitution. These four members are Anu Malhotra, Dr Neerupama Dogra Gupta, Bharat Sharma and Vikram Gujral.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President of the club said that the club is like a large family and the team must work together for its further development. Kapahi, who has remained several times member of Executive Committee earlier, is an experienced Real Estate Developer. He had secured the highest number of votes in the recently conducted election of the club. Besides this, Kapahi is a social activist and member of various fora.
Anil Kapahi hoped that all Executive Members and esteemed members of the Club will come forward in new ventures, including philanthropic activities, so that Club reaches its new zenith and truly becomes a Social Club.
