Alleging conferment of multifarious facilities by the present regime to ex-MLAs and ex-Ministers and even petty workers of BJP to the exclusion of all other political parties, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister said that J&K provided the most glaring example of patronized corruption and mis-rule. He expressed his dismay over the open violation of SOPs and guidelines in the matter of allotment of Government accommodation so as to confer undue and illegitimate benefits upon the political persons owing allegiance to a particular party. Singh said that a reply received by him yesterday in response to RTI reveals that several BJP workers who never became even a Sarpanch in life time have been allotted Estates Bungalows which continue to be retained by them without paying even a single penny as rent. Hesaid that RTI reply has further revealed startling revelation with regard to arrears of rent of the BJP leaders with Sunil Sharma exMinister’s outstanding rent amounting to Rs 2,44,408, ex-MLA Dalip Parihar owing Rs 80,408, ex-MLA Sat Sharma Rs 66,660, ex-MLA Rajesh Gupta Rs 58,200, ex-MLC Pardeep Sharma Rs 52,291, BJP leader Hina Bhat Rs 84,640, BJP worker Tarik Ahmed Keen Rs 88,872, Mtr. Hasina Rs 52,379; BJP General Secretary Manohar Lal Rs. 87,034 besides others. Singh said that as and when the issue of illegal occupation of Estates quarters was raised by the public and the media, the Estates Department issued notices of eviction as an eyewash and window dressing for the gullible. He said that despite five consecutive notices issued by Estates Department to the said un-authorized occupants since 21-02-2018, the much needed eviction had not been effected due the collusion between officers and such illegal occupants. Seeking a probe by ACB into the illegal occupation of Government property by unauthorized persons, Singh said that NPP would hold dharna outside Anti Corruption Bureau and CBI against the brazen loot and abuse of public property and exchequer by the corrupt leaders in connivance with their sycophant officers. Gagan Pratap Singh, UT Secretary, Surinder Chouhan, District President Jammu (Rural), Rakesh Gupta, Provincial General Secretary and Nirmal Kishore were also present in the press conference.
