Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla has urged the Government to enhance testing facilities for COVID-19 pandemic. He said that testing and tracing are keys to fight the pandemic. Bhalla also distributed ration and other essential items among needy people in Gandhi Nagar constituency at Kunjwani, Shankar Colony, Deep Nagar, Shiva Colony, Greater Jammu and Digiana. He stressed on the issue of humanism, protection and financial security to drive the approach to deal migrant labourers. The Congress leader urged upon the J&K administration to provide free ration to poor families facing problems due to countrywide lockdown. He pointed out that many poor families, widows, auto-rickshaw operators, mini-bus drivers/conductors, wayside vendors, salesmen, domestic helps etc are unable to feed their families in the ongoing lockdown. Bhalla said that stranded labourers, students, business persons and employees stuck in different parts across the country and abroad must be brought back to J&K. He said that every step must be taken to ensure the availability of essential commodities, medicines and other items during the ongoing holy month of Ramadhan. Bhalla urged the Government to ensure that all health workers are trained on infection prevention and control, proper use and disposal of Personal Protection Equipments. Satish Sharma, Block Congress President, Pritam Singh, JMC Councillor, Aman Bawa, Surinder Singh and others accompanied Bhalla.
