Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd on Thursday flagged off 20 tank trucks from HPCL, Jammu depot to HPCL Leh depot. A statement said the trucks will complete the 1400-km arduous round trip journey passing through the challenging Banihal and Zojilla passes and ensure the product was safely delivered to the highest altitude depot in India. “This kicks off the dispatch of fuel for summer season and winter stocking process wherein HPCL will dispatch more than 25,000 kiloliter of petroleum products like petrol, diesel and kerosene for consumption of general public and armed forces in Ladakh,” the statement said.“In the current COVID19 pandemic situation the HPCL team in Jammu and Kashmir is braving all challenges to deliver these essential petroleum commodities to remote corners of the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. HPCL always stands up and rise to the occasions and keep the engines burning for Ladakh,” the statement said.
