CEC inspects various developmental projects in Leh

The Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Leh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal along with Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal and Executive Councilor Minority Affairs Mumtaz Hussain today inspected a number of developmental projects in Leh and took stock of their status. The Chairman visited the bridge construction site at Choglamsar-the main approaching bridge of Chushot, Stok and Matho villages on Choglamsar-Hemis road. He assessed the progress work and instructed the engineers to gear up the pace of work and complete the bridge installation within a shortest possible time. During the inspection of Eco Public Park site at the old taxi stand near the main market Leh, the engineers apprised to the CEC about the progress of work and informed that Public Park has also an amusement space for the general public will also have an Open Theatre, Cafeteria, toilets etc. Considering the significance of the park in adding beautification to Leh town as well as to facilitate the people for their leisure time, CEC instructed to the engineers to ensure the creation of the park in such a way that would truly serve the whole purpose. He laid special emphasis on giving a traditional touch to the entire structure of the park which should represent Ladakh with eco-friendly manner. Later, CEC accompanied by the Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Executive Councilor Minority Affairs, Tehsildar, Leh and Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Leh and Headquarter Assistant of DC, office also inspected the site near petrol pump chowk where illegal construction was carried out by some people a few days back. CEC gave on spot instruction to the concerned departments to immediately cancel the land allotment order. The CEC also visited the Bomb-Garh and enquired about the progress of the installation work of a Blackhole machine which will be set up there to burn up the garbage. Looking at the rising environmental issue in the wake of huge accumulation of rubbish and garbage there, CEC set a deadline for functional of the machine within a month and directed to the Executive Officer, MC, Leh to gear up the works.
