The contractual lecturers hired by Higher Education Department (HED) for colleges in Kashmir division are without wages from last eight months. In a handout issued here, the college contractuals said they serving higher education department from last 20 years. “Despite serving the department for so many years, we are deprived of our monthly wages,” a college contractual said. The lecturers appealed Lt Governor and Secretary higher education department Talat Parvaiz for their personal intervention in the matter and and get their salary released. “Our grievances should be resolved on priority basis as we are the only bread earners of our families,” he said. The lecturers said of their wages were not released they will hit streets to press for their demands. “And the initiative will have bad consequences on oir lives due to COVID19,” the lecturer said.
