30 ‘contacts’ of Srinagar case quarantined at Sopore

The authorities have identified and quarantined 30 persons who had come in contact with the Srinagar man who tested positive for Covid-19. Among those identified include members of several families, who had met Srinagar man at Sopore. “We have quarantined around 30 people so far who had met him in Sopore,” said Dr Rudyana, of sub district hospital Sopore. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Javed Iqbal said the Srinagar man who tested positive originally hails from Sopore. “He arrived in Sopore on March 16 and left for Srinagar the next day. During his stay here, he met around 30 people. They all have been identified quarantined” said the SSP. The Srinagar man had recently returned from Delhi where he was part of Tabligi Jammat which was attended by people from Indonesia and Malaysia. The government spokesperson on Wednesday said four persons in Kashmir, who had participated in a religious event with the Srinagar patient had tested positive for Covid-19.
