Senior BJP leader Dr. Parneesh Mahajan today expressed strong support for the introduction of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the Parliament, highlighting its pivotal role in promoting transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties nationwide. He emphasized that the Bill aligns seamlessly with the BJP’s commitment to clean governance and responsible administration.
The Waqf (Amendment) Bill is scheduled for consideration and passing in the Lok Sabha tomorrow. The government has allocated eight hours for the discussion, underscoring the importance of the legislation. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has stated that the time for discussion may be extended based on the consensus of the House.
in a press release issued here today, Dr. Parneesh remarked, “The Waqf Bill exemplifies the Modi government’s steadfast dedication to establishing a system where all assets, including Waqf properties, are managed efficiently and ethically. This legislation will empower authorities to prevent any misuse of these resources, ensuring they serve the greater good of society.”
The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, aims to reform the management of Waqf properties by introducing measures such as digitization, enhanced audits, and improved transparency. It also seeks to establish legal mechanisms to reclaim illegally occupied properties, thereby strengthening the governance framework of Waqf institutions.
“The introduction of this Bill is expected to foster greater accountability in the management of Waqf properties, directly contributing to the nation’s growth and welfare. The BJP’s vision for governance emphasizes transparency, efficiency, and responsiveness, aiming to create an administration where even the most vulnerable sections of society have an equal stake in the country’s progress,” he added.
Dr. Parneesh said, “By ensuring that Waqf properties are utilized for public welfare and development, the Bill contributes significantly to the empowerment of marginalized communities.
