Indian Army Interacts with Gujjars & Bakkarwals At Lam, Rajouri

In continuation of its efforts to maintain connections with the transient population and address their concerns, the Indian Army carried out an interaction at Kaskatral for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities.
The Gujjar and Bakkarwals, living in the remote village of Lam, were engaged in the interaction, where their well-being and any critical issues faced by their community were discussed.
During the interaction, the community was guided on women empowerment, the importance of education for children and their future prospects, and the significance of skill development for better employment opportunities.
The community was assured that every possible help would be provided to them, acknowledging that their contributions play a key role in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
The Gujjar and Bakkarwal community expressed their unwavering support and trust in the Indian Army. A total of 47 individuals (16 men, 14 women, and 17 children) from the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities participated in the interaction.
