The game of fraud on online helicopter tickets for Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Yatra continues unabated, 5-8 passengers are targeted every day, thousands of rupees are being defrauded, police administration, cyber cell are proving unsuccessful in curbing , stated by Manish Sahni, President, Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit.
In a press conference held today at the party’s state central office, state head Manish Sahni said that the game of cheating in the name of online helicopter ticket booking has been going on unhindered for the past several months.
There is a plethora of fake helicopter booking sites on Google search handle, which are easily trapping innocent passengers in their web and committing fraud by giving them the false hope of confirmed helicopter tickets. Sahni said that he is receiving complaints of such frauds every day. According to his information, the police administration and the Shrine Board are also receiving 8-10 complaints every month. On contacting the phone number registered on this website, these people claim to be working in Niharika Bhawan in Katra and to be employees of the Board. However, the Shrine Board also has to face a lot of problems due to these fake tickets. The Board also issues advisories from time to time and advises to avoid fake websites and apps. Sahni said that all the above efforts are proving insufficient to curb this fraud.
Sahni has asked the Shrine Board and the administration to increase the scope of their efforts, put pressure on Google and other handlers to ban websites with names similar to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi, and has especially demanded strict monitoring and strict legal action from the police and cyber cell. Along with this, he has appealed to the people to be cautious and book helicopter tickets and other facilities from the official website after thorough investigation. On this occasion Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi,City President Rohan Malwal were present.
